March 2020 COVID-19 Update

Austin Convention Center Department

With all our scheduled events, the Austin Convention Center Department is following the official guidelines of the City of Austin. We are vigorously reaching out to all clients and are actively responding to those who expressed concerns about the scheduling of their events.

The Austin Convention Center Department is listening to their clients’ comments and working with them on possible options. We want to assure clients, along with our partners in the tourism and hotel industry, that we are open for business and we appreciate their choice to remain in Austin.

We are very grateful for everyone’s ongoing support and continue to implement our enhanced housekeeping protocols. Our goal is to assure a healthy place to work for our employees and a fit place for visitors to convene.

Pro Tip: The Riverside Dr. entrance to the parking garage is often underutilized. To avoid traffic at the Barton Springs Rd. entrance, use the Riverside Dr. entrance.

Downtown & Vicinity

Located within downtown Austin, yet cradled by Butler Park, Auditorium Shores, and Lady Bird Lake near downtown Austin, the Palmer Events Center is easily accessible from Barton Springs Rd. or Riverside Dr. by car or public transportation.

The Palmer Events Center is located at 900 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704, within a three-mile radius of 11,000 hotel rooms.

By the end of 2020, 12,144 hotel rooms are projected to be available downtown.
